Q & A about M&C Consignment During Covid-19 😷

We did not have a page in our procedures manual about what to do in the event that the store has to close for 2 1/2 months in order to slow the spread of a virus.  😉🙂😛
So... thank you all for your patience, kind words and support while we continue to figure this out. 😍

What happened to the stuff I consigned in March?
Most items consigned in March remained in our blue, Rubbermaid buckets until now.  They will get entered into the computer in May, and will not mark down until July 1.

What happened to the stuff I consigned in January or February?
They are inventoried and available for sale.  Some even sold while we were closed --via MotherSays.com or telephone requests.  THEY WILL NOT BE DONATED BEFORE JUNE 30.  They will, however, be marked down.  Please see the next question.

What if my stuff was in the store marking down, while you were not open because of Covid-19?
When we open in June, many, many really good summer items will be marked down. I am asking consignors to give-a-bargain and get-a-bargain.   We ask you to please understand that we were all stuck and need to help each other move on from this period and season of inventory. You might get a little less money for your items (maybe they would have sold at final mark-down, anyway).
Lets look on the bright side: You will also be able to take advantage of these markdowns on the really great summer items that you and your family need and want for this social-distancing summer. A summer sale for everyone in our community. 🤍

What if I had a consignment appointment scheduled during the time that you were closed?
Please book a 10 minute slot of time to drop consignments.  Consignment will be very different for the time being.  Please go to the Consignment Policies page to read the procedures and the very specific list of what we can accept. The appointment-booking is necessary to avoid congestion at the store entrance.  If you see another person inside, dropping items, please wait until they are out of the entrance area. Please book a time-slot, and please try to drop within 10 minutes of that time.

What if I still want to consign some Summer things?
